Sub-Zero is one of the most recognisable characters of the Mortal Kombat. It’s less surprising if you consider that he was one of the few fighters (the list includes also legends like Scorpion and Raiden) that appeared in the first instalment of this series.
Although years are passing, Mortal Kombat all the time has a great number of fans. While the character list is growing, Sub-Zero still happens to be on of the gamers’ favourites.
This is why we decided to dedicate our new piece to this special fighter. Today, we would like to show you 7 great Sub-Zero cosplay picks, that we believe you might fight interesting, if you are a hardcore Mortal Kombat player.
1. The Classic
We start with what Sub-Zero started with – a classic outfit that appeared in the first Mortal Kombat. The game was released for the first time in 1992 and gathered lots of controversy due to it’s very brutal ways of finishing the opponent.
In the first game, Sub-Zero has already been given one of the most iconic Fatalities (as they were called) in the whole history of the series – he could tore out the opponent’s head with the whole spine connected to it.
Although we do recommend to buy the costume we offer, we DO NOT recommend recreating this Fatality. In fact – we do not recommend recreating any of them.

2. The Modern Look
As everyone else in the video games industry, Sub-Zero is also trying to modernise his look. In the first Mortal Kombat, which made a use of actual actors to create sprites of the fighters, the character was played by Daniel Pesina.
These days, however, Sub-Zero is a fully computerised character with his own, virtual face. Well, or at least a part of it, due to the iconic mask that covers most of his head.
Our offer this time is, therefore, a cosplay costume straight out of the newest instalment of the franchise, Mortal Kombat X. More realistic, more cool, more badass.

3. The Face Full of Secrets
But Sub-Zero wouldn’t be himself without the iconic mask. He is the Naruto’s Kakashi of the fighting games.
The players can usually see only the eyes of their beloved character. The rest of Sub-Zero’s face is hidden behind either the mask or a kind of balaclava.
Firstly, we would like to recommend you a combination of these two. Rubie’s created a one-piece rubber mask that covers your whole head, except the eyes. It imitates the Sub-Zero’s look fantastically and – what is also important – it is an officially-licensed Mortal Kombat product.

4. The Mask
Our second Sub Zero’s mask-related offer is something that may interest also non-cosplayers. This time, it is not a rubber piece covering your whole head, but only the mouth-protecting part.
And trust us – protecting is really the correct word to use here. The mask is made of a high-quality fibreglass, making it incredibly useful also for airsoft fans and people participating in other sports where face injury is possible.
If you don’t only want to look badass but also to be safe, this Sub-Zero mask is the perfect choice.

5. Ice Cube
But Sub-Zero is not only a great martial arts fighter, but also a superhuman possessing unnatural abilities. Just look at his name once again and think about it – does it ring any bell to you?
Exactly, Sub-Zero means below zero temperature. In other words, the Mortal Kombat character can control ice and form it into weapons.
One of them we would like to present to you today – it’s an iced sword that lights up, making a great impression among all the people around. With this weapon in hand, your Sub-Zero cosplay will make it to another level.

6. Melting At The Sauna
We can’t be sure how exactly Sub-Zero spends his free time, but we can guess. Considering the fact that after so many years since the first Mortal Kombat he still wears nearly the same costume, it is possible that his wardrobe is full of similar outfits.
Does Sub-Zero go to sauna? We can’t be sure either. If he is an ice-controlling fighter, wouldn’t he melt in there?
But if he goes to sauna, we are pretty sure he wears something like this: a plush after-shower robe, imitating his classic costume. Grab one for yourself and scare your roommates even before Halloween comes!

7. The Recovery Time
What do you need after a long day of beating up other super fighters at a Mortal Kombat tournament? Good sleep.
There are some people who can sleep four or even two hours a day and still feel totally fine. Most of us, however, need from seven to up to nine hours of sleep every night.
In whichever group you are, if you are fan of Mortal Kombat, you should definitely get this Sub-Zero pyjama. Yup, you heard it right – a Sub-Zero-inspired pyjama. Wearing this, you won’t be afraid of ghosts and bad dreams anymore.
They will be afraid of you.
